Getting Started with LotFlux
Everything you need to install, configure, and customize LotFlux on your WordPress site.
Installation
Install LotFlux directly from the WordPress Plugin Directory:
- Go to Plugins → Add New in your WordPress admin
- Search for "LotFlux"
- Click Install Now, then Activate
- Navigate to LotFlux → Settings → General to begin setup
Configuration
After activation, configure your dealer connection:
- Enter your dealer name and location in the General tab
- LotFlux auto-detects your MarketCheck dealer ID
- Free tier uses our shared API key — no setup required
- Premium/Preferred dealers enter their own MarketCheck API key
Your First Sync
Once configured, trigger your first inventory sync from the Tools tab. LotFlux will pull your current inventory and create vehicle posts automatically. After the initial sync, updates run on a schedule based on your plan.
Shortcodes
Display inventory anywhere on your site using shortcodes:
[lotflux_inventory] — Full inventory grid with search and filters
[lotflux_featured] — Featured vehicles carousel or grid
[lotflux_vehicle] — Single vehicle detail page
[lotflux_lead] — Standalone lead capture form
All shortcodes accept parameters for customization. See the Support page for the full parameter reference.
Inventory Display
LotFlux displays your dealership inventory in a responsive grid or list layout. Vehicles are synced automatically from the MarketCheck API and rendered as cards showing year, make, model, price, and a photo. Use the [lotflux_inventory] shortcode with parameters to control columns, sort order, and items per page.
Search & Filters
The built-in filter bar lets visitors narrow results by body type, stock type (new/used), price range, year, and make. Filters render above the inventory grid automatically when show_filters="1" is set. Filter fields are configurable per license tier in the Fields settings tab.
Lead Capture
Every vehicle detail page includes an integrated lead form. When a visitor submits an inquiry, LotFlux sends the dealer a notification email with the vehicle context (year, make, model, VIN) and the visitor's contact info. The form fields, required fields, and labels are all configurable via shortcode parameters or the Lead settings tab. Premium dealers can also forward leads to a CRM via webhook.
Vehicle Detail Pages
Each synced vehicle gets its own detail page with a full photo gallery, specs table, and pricing. The [lotflux_vehicle] shortcode supports hero, gallery, or single photo layouts. A lead capture form and similar vehicles section are auto-injected by default and can be toggled off.
Schema Markup
Premium and Preferred plans include structured data (JSON-LD) on every vehicle detail page. This helps search engines understand your inventory and can improve visibility with rich results showing price, availability, and vehicle details directly in search listings.
Smart Price Display
LotFlux intelligently shows MSRP, sale price, or both depending on what data is available. When a sale price is present and lower than MSRP, both are displayed with a visual strikethrough on the original price. Monthly payment estimates can also be shown based on configurable loan terms.
Vehicle Comparison
Premium and Preferred plans include a side-by-side vehicle comparison tool. Visitors can select multiple units to compare specs, pricing, and features in a clean table view — helping them make faster buying decisions without leaving your site.
Inventory Alerts
Preferred plan dealers get access to the inventory alerts engine. Set rules to be notified when new units matching specific criteria arrive in your inventory, when prices change, or when units have been on the lot beyond a threshold. Alerts are delivered by email and visible in the LotFlux dashboard.
